The Vie Eleccion was built for my Year 1 UAL Game Design Diploma Final Major Project.
I came up with the concept during the final three months of the course at another school. It wasn’t easy—only three weeks were given to build it, with little time to prepare and other assignments to juggle. But I committed to it and gave it my all.
I originally had two ideas and wanted to make a two-in-one game: a main story and a mini-game accessible from the menu. But time constraints led me to focus on the main game, which was already in production.
The game is an open-world experience inspired by titles like GTA, Watch Dogs, Saints Row, APB, and Shadow the Hedgehog. What makes it unique is the freedom to choose your path—hero, criminal, or something in between. Your choices shape the ending.
The fictional city, Charlston(M)RougeVille, draws influence from Southern U.S. cities like Baton Rouge and Texas, and East Coast cities like New York and Chicago. The name "The Vie Eleccion" blends English, French, and Spanish, reflecting the multicultural communities in the game. It translates to "The Life Choice"—a nod to the decisions players make throughout the game.
